小叶子

小叶子是普林斯顿大学一年级学生，主修环境工程。萌萌的娃娃脸，秀气的杏仁眼，黑黑的眸子，怎么看都像一个长大了的童星。

小叶子姓叶，有个姐姐大叶子，自然她就是小叶子。

小叶子出生在计划生育年代，她的顺利出生，茁壮成长凝聚着她父母的大智慧。父母各自不仅有着自己的事业，对“叶子”们的培养一点不含糊，陪伴，指引，每一步都很到位。小叶子是含着“金汤匙”来到这个世上。这个“金”不是钱是丰富的人生宝藏。

让小叶子来美国受教育是叶爸爸做的决定，一家人考察了东西海岸的教育环境，为了孩子选中了新泽西。叶妈妈委托他人代管自己公司，踏踏实实的，心无旁骛的做了陪读妈妈。

六年级的小叶子在国内没上过什么补习班，只是随大流的学学英语，不是什么学霸，在班上20%的水平。来到新泽西就进入了有独特教育理念的华德夫小学。随后又就近进入女子中学。叶妈妈在异国他乡开启她的育女事业。母女俩很快结交了新朋友，一起学习进步。

记得初遇小叶子，就被她那小姑娘乖巧模样还有好听的声音打动，讲话有条不紊，说出来的话一套一套的。她明确自己的近期目标是先过英语关，将来上个好大学。这些做事的风格都是刻在骨子里的，从小她就看着爸爸妈妈在公司里做事情，对父母做的事情门清。更远的打算就是像爸爸一样为地球环境的改善做贡献。当年听她讲这些你会感觉小女孩被教的不错，如今在大学的饭厅里再与她交流这些，回顾六年来的经历，你会感觉到信念与执着的力量。

小叶子进入大学如鱼得水，一下子就得到了上大学的真谛，一年级没学完就开始申请关于环境工程的科研项目经费，志在必得的招兵买马的忙活暑假科研。看着她稚气未脱的样子你想象不出在她的心里已经有了远景规划，计划着把爸爸的事业发扬光大。同时她又是一个小姑娘，被宿舍里的老鼠吓到跑回家睡觉。为了补实验课奋战到半夜，然后被同学吓到飞跑，用4分钟跑完平时10分钟走的路程。

不爱体育锻炼，坚持说在校园走路是她的锻炼项目。问她看到有八块腹肌的男生是什么感觉，她俏皮的回答目前为止看到的都是只有一块腹肌的，至于有八块的没看到也没时间去看。

最让人羡慕的是和妈妈的亲密关系，还说自己是“姐控”，爸爸是她的精神支柱。这个“别人家的孩子”小叶子既有邻家女孩的亲切感又有大家风范，叹一声：花落谁家啊！

Xiaoyezi is a freshman majoring in environmental engineering at Princeton University. With a cute baby face, delicate almond-shaped eyes, and black pupils, she looks like a grown-up child star.

Xiaoyezi last name is Ye, and she has an older sister named big leaves so naturally she is called Small leaves.

Xiaoyezi was born in the era of the one-child policy, and her smooth birth and healthy growth are a testament to her parents’ wisdom. Both parents have their own careers, and their education of the “Yezi” leaves nothing to chance, providing guidance and support every step of the way. Xiaoyezi was born with a “golden spoon” in her mouth, not in terms of wealth, but in terms of a rich treasure trove of life experiences.

The decision to send Xiaoyezi to the United States for education was made by her father, who, along with the family, researched the educational environment on the East and West coasts and chose New Jersey for their child. Her mother entrusted her company to others and became a dedicated accompanying mother.

Xiaoyezi didn’t attend any tutoring classes in China, just went with the flow and learned English. She wasn’t a top student, ranking only in the top 20% of her class. However, after coming to New Jersey, she entered the Waldorf School, which has a unique educational philosophy, and then went to a nearby girls’ high school. Her mother started her career of raising a daughter in a foreign land. The mother and daughter quickly made new friends and studied together to progress.

When I first met Xiaoyezi, I was struck by her cute appearance and pleasant voice. She spoke clearly and precisely. She had set a clear goal of passing the English test first and attending a good university in the future. This style of work is ingrained in her, having grown up watching her parents work at the company, and understanding their work. Her long-term plan is to contribute to the improvement of the earth’s environment like her father. When she spoke about these things back then, you would feel that the little girl had been taught well. Now, talking with her in the university cafeteria, and looking back on her six years of experience, you feel the power of conviction and perseverance.

Xiaoyezi inherited her parents’ excellent genes and learned their abilities in work and life. As the only student from her high school admitted to Princeton University in 2022, anyone who has gone through the difficult process of American university admissions will understand the difficulty. Those in the know will ask, “What did you do to impress the world’s top-ranked Princeton?” The answer to this question could be long or short, listing her resume, which would take three days and nights, but simply put, Princeton and Xiaoyezi are a perfect match, she is best suited to be here!

Xiaoyezi settled into university life like a fish in water, grasping the essence of going to university. Before the first year of her studies was over, she started applying for research project funding related to environmental engineering, busy recruiting and organizing her team for summer research. Looking at her still-immature appearance, you can’t imagine that she already has a long-term plan in mind, planning to carry on her father’s business. At the same time, she is still a young girl who was scared by mice in her dorm room and ran home to sleep. In order to catch up on experimental classes, she worked until midnight, and then she was scared by her classmate and ran away, completing a 10-minute walk in just 4 minutes.

She doesn’t like physical exercise, insisting that walking around campus is her exercise routine. When asked how she feel about seeing a guy with eight-pack abs, she playfully replied that she has only seen guys with one-pack abs so far, and she hasn’t had the time to look for anyone with eight-pack abs.

What people envy the most about is her close relationship with her mother. She also say she is a “sister control” and that her father is her spiritual pillar. This “child from another family,” Xiao Yezi, has both the warmth of a neighbor girl and the grace of a lady.
